This film about the Oxford music scene 1988ish-2000ish, lovingly put together by Jon Spira, premieres today on the Southbank. It’s a nice example of how Oxford’s always held it’s own, and gives a history of why and how it’s generally such a vibrant and supportive city to be an artist in. Hopefully someone will make a follow up include the subsequent Math, Prog & Metal scene that came out of it’s ashes and the Noise-punk scene that arose as a response to that, and the burgeoning electronic and pop music that’s seemingly a response to that right now. Town’s got game. For those of you who can’t make it to the cinema tour they’re doing round the country, you can get hold of the DVD HERE. xx∞
