What a great night this was. Free entry but guest list only, I think I picked up a couple of tickets from the Bedrock forum….
A Wednesday night and John Digweed was DJing at the (now-closed) AKA Bar in central London. For the first hour of the night there was a free bar, and our efforts of getting home early were scuppered by the awesome selection of classic house cuts that Digweed had assembled for his “Choice” album launch.
A master class (as you would expect from he) in mixing and track selection, and ultimately a very fun evening. As a result, a very sore head at work the next morning…
Just picked up the double live CD recorded from this gig, looks like a stunning venue! 5 hour set culminating in this track… standard Digweed annihilation… its sad that its so rare to see scenes like this in the UK these days.
Digging into the mix CDs tonight to try and re-live some of the magic… glad to note that it includes crowd noises for the authentic live feel…
